Gurgaon Spa Gang-Rape Case: Woman Alleges Drugging and Assault by Partner
A shocking incident has come to light in Gurgaon, where a 29-year-old woman claims she was drugged and gang-raped by two men inside a spa center. The Gurgaon police registered the case on Monday, based on the woman's complaint.
Details of the Alleged Assault
The survivor, a resident of West Delhi, had been in a relationship with one of the accused for three months. According to her statement, the accused picked her up from her home on a motorcycle around 11 pm on January 13. He took her to a spa that was closed for the day.
The second accused was already waiting at the location. Both men had keys to the premises. The woman alleges they offered her snacks and soft drinks, which she believes were laced with sedatives.
After consuming these items, she felt drowsy and lost consciousness. The two men then raped her while recording videos of the act. They threatened to make the footage viral if she reported the crime to the authorities.
Police Investigation and Legal Action
Police sources reveal both accused are natives of West Bengal. One of them works as the manager of the spa. The Gurgaon police have booked them under Section 70(1) for gang rape under the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita.
Both men are currently on the run. Investigators have seized CCTV footage from the area. Forensic analysis of the collected evidence is now in progress.
The victim's medical examination is underway. After this, her statement will be recorded before a judicial magistrate. Police officers confirm further investigation is ongoing to trace the accused.
Similar Incident in Gurgaon-Faridabad Area
This case follows another disturbing incident in December last year. A 25-year-old woman was allegedly gang-raped by two men on the Gurgaon-Faridabad Road.
According to the complaint lodged by the survivor's sister, the woman had left home after a quarrel with her mother. She was returning from a friend's house when she accepted a lift from two men in a Maruti Suzuki Eeco van.
The complaint states the accused took her towards the Gurgaon-Faridabad Road. They gang-raped her inside the moving vehicle as it passed through isolated stretches amid dense fog. The Faridabad police arrested two men from Uttar Pradesh in connection with this case.
The Gurgaon spa incident highlights ongoing concerns about women's safety in the region. Authorities continue their efforts to apprehend the perpetrators and ensure justice for the survivor.
