Fake Currency Printing Busted in Pusad, 4 Arrested

Yavatmal police busted a fake currency printing operation in a lodge in Pusad city after a late-night raid on Thursday. The operation led to the seizure of materials worth nearly Rs 2 lakh and the arrest of four individuals from Telangana.

Details of the Raid

According to Assistant Police Inspector Gopal Chandrapal Indrale of Pusad City police station, cases were registered against Suresh Kishan Pendam (Mancherial district), Avinash Kumar Surendra Malraj (Tilak Nagar), Venkatesh Kishan Jangli (Gandhi Nagar), and Syed Sadiq Syed Khaja (Ashok Road, Mancherial), all from Telangana.

Police sources revealed that specific information was received about a group printing counterfeit currency notes in room no. 105 of Vihar Lodge. A trap was laid, and the accused were found using tincture iodine, sodium sulphate, spirit, paper, and other chemical materials to prepare fake notes.

Seized Materials and Legal Action

The seized materials include printing equipment, chemicals, and partially printed notes. The accused have been booked under relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code and are currently in custody. Further investigation is underway to trace possible links to larger networks.
