Faridabad Murder Case: Son and Father Arrested After Woman Found Dead Near Drain
In a shocking development in Faridabad, a 22-year-old man has been arrested in connection with the brutal murder of a 48-year-old woman, whose body was discovered near a drain on April 17. The police had previously taken his father into custody for allegedly assisting in the escape and evidence concealment following the crime.
Arrests and Police Investigation Details
A specialized crime branch team from the Faridabad police apprehended the primary accused, identified as Brahmjeet, on April 21. His father, Jagwinder, aged 49, was arrested earlier on April 18 and has since been remanded to judicial custody after initial police questioning.
According to official statements from the police, the victim had been in a relationship with Brahmjeet for approximately one and a half years. Investigative findings indicate that tensions arose between them after Brahmjeet entered into a marriage in January 2025 and subsequently ceased meeting with the woman. The accused claimed that she persistently pressured him to continue their relationship despite his new marital status.
Sequence of Events Leading to the Murder
On the fateful day, Brahmjeet allegedly escorted the woman to the electricity board office under the pretense of assisting with bill payments. Later, he convinced her to accompany him to a remote area near a drain located between Kabulpur and Dhatir. It was at this isolated spot that he reportedly assaulted and killed her.
"After committing the murder, the accused disposed of the body in the drain before fleeing to Palwal. His father played a crucial role in facilitating his escape," stated Yashpal Yadav, the police spokesperson for the case.
Background of the Victim and Case Registration
The victim, originally from Bihar, resided in Faridabad with her family members. She left her home on April 15 with the intention of paying an electricity bill at the Sector 58 electricity board office but never returned.
