In a distressing incident on Tuesday, six individuals, including three police personnel, sustained injuries when the sports utility vehicle they were travelling in veered out of control and collided with a tree on the Fazilka-Malout highway. The accident has raised concerns about road safety in the region, prompting immediate response from local authorities.
Immediate Response and Rescue Efforts
Upon receiving information about the mishap, the Sadak Surakhiya Force team swiftly arrived at the scene near Arniwala. The team, led by in-charge Devi Dayal, discovered that all six occupants of the vehicle were in need of medical attention. Demonstrating prompt action, the rescuers coordinated the evacuation of the injured to nearby healthcare facilities.
Medical Treatment and Hospital Admissions
Four of the injured persons were initially taken to a nearby hospital for preliminary care. However, two individuals with more serious conditions required advanced medical intervention. Consequently, they were admitted to the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) in Bathinda for specialised treatment. The remaining injured were transported to the Government hospital in Fazilka, where they received necessary medical assistance.
Identification of the Seriously Injured
The two critically injured victims admitted to AIIMS Bathinda have been identified as Angrez Singh, a resident of Sirsa in Haryana, and Harminder Singh, who serves as an inspector in the crime investigation agency (CIA) wing of Mohali. Their conditions are being closely monitored by medical professionals, with hopes for a full recovery.
