Ferozepur police have apprehended eight individuals in separate operations, recovering 5.75 kilograms of heroin, along with weapons, drug money, and prohibited medicines. The arrests were made by different CIA teams and local police stations.
First Case: Major Heroin and Arms Recovery
The CIA team from Zira police station arrested five suspects and seized 5.7 kg of heroin, 1.3 lakh prohibited tablets and capsules, and an array of weapons. The recovered arms included two .30-bore pistols with three magazines, two live cartridges, one Glock pistol (Austria-made) with magazine, and 39 live cartridges of KF 7.65 bore. Additionally, six mobile phones, a car, and Rs 36,600 in cash were confiscated, as stated by SSP Bhupinder Singh.
The arrested individuals were identified as Manjinder Singh (24) from Lakha Bhedia village, Jagjit Singh (22) from Mallanwala village, Gurdev Singh (55) from Mamdot Uttar village, and Mintu (22) and Rashpal Singh alias Sewa (24), both from Kunde village. Police revealed that Mintu was already facing a case under the NDPS Act, while Rashpal had seven previous cases registered against him under the same Act.
Second Case: Drug Money and Pistol Seized
In another operation, the CIA team from Makhu police station arrested Karandeep Singh alias Karan (22), a resident of Chotian Road in Fatehgarh Panjtoor. From his possession, authorities recovered 50 grams of heroin, one pistol with magazine, Rs 2.8 lakh suspected drug money, and a Maruti car. The accused was implicated in a case under Sections 24, 54, and 59 of the Arms Act.
Third Case: Snatching and Theft Arrests
Ferozepur City police arrested Luvpreet Kumar (26) from Mohkam Khan Wala village and Ravi Kumar (32) from Basti Bhattian in connection with snatching and theft cases. Police recovered two motorcycles and 10 mobile phones from them.
These operations highlight the ongoing efforts of Ferozepur police to combat drug trafficking and criminal activities in the region.
