Four arrested for robbing two men near Tiruttani

Chennai: Two men were attacked and robbed of their mobile phones, cash, and motorcycle by a four-member gang near Tiruttani on Monday night. The gang has been arrested.

Incident Details

At 9 pm, Chiranjeevi, 24, a welder from R V N Kandigai village, and Indu, 25, a driver from the same village, were returning home on a two-wheeler from K G Kandigai. When the duo was nearing a lake bund, the gang of four arrived on an autorickshaw and a motorbike and intercepted them.

The assailants threatened the victims at knifepoint and attacked them with the weapon when they resisted. The gang fled the scene with the victims' phones, cash, and vehicle. Residents rushed the injured duo to the Tiruttani government hospital, where they are undergoing treatment.

Arrests Made

Based on a complaint, Tiruttani police registered a case and arrested the four suspects: Pushparaj, 25, Yuvaraj, 20, Vimalraj, 26, and Siva, 22, all from Cherukkanur. The stolen items have been recovered from their possession. Further investigation is underway.
