Ranchi: Four miscreants have been arrested for being involved in two separate incidents including looting of phones and cash from e-rickshaw passengers and snatching of ornaments from an elderly woman in two Sadar and Kotwali police station limits of the city, the police said on Monday.
Looting at Khadgarha Bus Stand
SP City Paras Rana on Monday said information was received about looting of mobile phones and cash from passengers near Khadgarha bus stand on Sunday. In a prompt action, accused Dilkash Gaddi, 28, was arrested from Ilahibaksh area within hours of the incident. Four looted phones, a country-made gun and a knife were seized from him. Rana said Gaddi is accused in at least nine petty cases at different police stations. Police are carrying out raids to apprehend other criminals involved in the crime.
Snatching from Elderly Woman
In a separate case, Rohit Kumar Thakur, 26, Rohit Raj, 23, and Aman Singh, 26, were arrested for allegedly snatching gold earrings and necklace from a 75-year-old woman during her morning walk on the Harmu by-pass road at around 6 am on Monday. The looted items were recovered from them. Police stated that two of the criminals were apprehended from the Bada Talaab and one from Kishoreganj area in the afternoon. Thakur has a criminal history as he is an accused in nine cases including of theft registered with the Sukhdeonagar and Jagannathpur PS. Raj is also an accused in four cases lodged with daily market, Sukhdeonagar and Nagri PS.
