Family of Four Reported Missing During Train Journey from Bengaluru to Delhi

A distressing situation has unfolded as two women and two children traveling from Bengaluru to Delhi aboard the Karnataka Express have been reported missing. The family, consisting of Sushma, her sister-in-law, and Sushma's two children named Anaya and Pradyumn, embarked on their journey from Bengaluru's KSR railway station at 7:20 PM on Wednesday.

Journey Details and Expected Arrival

The Karnataka Express, train number 12627, typically requires 36 to 38 hours to complete the approximately 2,200-kilometer journey between Bengaluru and Delhi. Based on this schedule, the family was expected to arrive at their destination by around 9:00 AM on Friday. However, they have failed to reach their home in Delhi, raising serious concerns among relatives and authorities.

Husband's Desperate Search Efforts

Sushma's husband, Sumit, has been leading frantic efforts to locate his missing family members. After being unable to establish contact, Sumit visited the Railway Protection Force (RPF) office on Thursday to review CCTV footage from the departure station. The footage confirmed that Sushma and the three others had indeed boarded the train as planned.

A significant complication in the search is that Sushma does not possess a mobile phone, making direct communication impossible. This communication gap has intensified the family's anxiety and complicated search efforts.

Official Response and Investigation Status

The Railway Protection Force has launched a comprehensive investigation into the disappearance. A senior RPF officer confirmed to media outlets that all stations along the train's route have been alerted to search for the missing family members.

"The investigation is currently in progress, and we have not ascertained any concrete information as of Sunday," the officer stated. "We have advised all en route stations to conduct thorough checks for the missing family."

Public Appeal for Assistance

In a desperate move to broaden the search, Sumit took to social media platform X on Sunday, directly appealing to Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw for assistance. This public appeal highlights the growing concern and urgency surrounding the case as days pass without any sign of the missing travelers.

Police authorities have noted that the inability to establish contact with family members who would normally have communication devices has created particular worry. The investigation continues as railway officials work to trace the movements of the family members throughout their intended journey.
