Four Family Members Brutally Murdered in Etah Home
In a shocking incident that has sent shockwaves through the community, four members of a family were brutally hacked to death in their own home in Etah district on Monday afternoon. The horrific crime occurred in the Mohalla Nagla Premi locality near the district headquarters.
Victims Identified as Elderly Couple and Younger Family Members
Unidentified assailants barged into the family home and attacked the residents with sharp weapons and bricks. The victims include 75-year-old Ganga Singh, his 70-year-old wife Shyama Devi, their 42-year-old daughter-in-law Ratna, and their 23-year-old granddaughter Jyoti.
Jyoti was preparing for her wedding scheduled for February this year, adding to the tragedy of her untimely death. The family members were inside their house when the attackers stormed in and launched their violent assault.
Police Launch Comprehensive Investigation
ADG (Agra zone) Anupam Kulshreshtha personally visited the crime scene after police received information from neighbors around 3 pm. The senior officer confirmed that multiple investigative teams have been deployed to solve this brutal crime.
"We have mobilized a dog squad and forensic experts to examine the crime scene," said Kulshreshtha. "Our teams are collecting all available circumstantial evidence and scanning recordings from nearby CCTV cameras. The primary evidence collection work has concluded, and we will begin questioning suspects soon."
Aligarh range DIG Prabhkar Chaudhary will oversee the investigation personally, indicating the seriousness with which authorities are treating this case.
Motive Remains Unclear
Police officials expressed confusion about the motive behind the brutal murders. According to family members, the victims had no known enemies and had not received any threats prior to the attack.
"The motive behind the murder is unclear at this stage," confirmed Kulshreshtha. "Family members have stated there was no enmity with anyone, and they had not received any threats. We have collected substantial evidence and hope to solve this case quickly."
Timeline of the Tragic Day
The sequence of events reveals the shocking nature of the crime. Kamal, Singh's son who operates a medical store, had visited the home around 1 pm for lunch before returning to his shop. He reported that everything appeared normal during his visit.
The crime was discovered around 2 pm when Ganga Singh's grandson returned home from school and found the blood-soaked bodies. His cries alerted neighbors, who immediately gathered and contacted the police.
When police arrived at the scene, they found Shyama Devi still breathing. She was rushed to a nearby hospital but unfortunately succumbed to her injuries during treatment.
Crime Scene Details Emerge
Police described finding the victims in different locations within the house. Ratna Devi's body was discovered on a bed on the second floor, while Jyoti and Shyama were found on the floor. Ganga Singh's body was located on the ground floor of the residence.
Kamal expressed his shock and grief, stating, "I had come home for lunch around 1 pm and returned to my shop before going to the market. Everything seemed completely normal at that time. I received a call from a relative informing me about this terrible incident."
Police Deploy Multiple Resources
Additional SP Shweta Pandey confirmed that comprehensive investigative resources have been deployed. "We have teams from the dog squad, forensic unit, and multiple police stations working on this case," she stated. "An FIR is being filed as we speak, and we are pursuing all possible leads."
The brutal murder has left the local community in Etah district reeling, with residents expressing shock and concern about such violence occurring in their neighborhood.
