Katwa: In a disturbing incident early Tuesday morning, a group of vigilantes allegedly assaulted four men who were transporting cattle in the Madhaitala area of Katwa subdivision in East Burdwan district. The men were later arrested by police, and the cattle were seized.

According to police reports, the four individuals were moving five cattle intended for agricultural purposes when they were intercepted by a group claiming allegiance to the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). The vigilantes demanded documentation pertaining to the cattle and, upon the men's failure to produce any papers, proceeded to physically assault them.
Identification of the Accused
The arrested individuals have been identified as Sujauddin Sk, Rahim Sk, and Sahidullah Sk, all residents of Nakasipara in Nadia district, and Salam Ansari, a resident of Katwa in East Burdwan. They are scheduled to be produced before the Katwa court on Wednesday.
