Ghaziabad Businessman Run Over by Car in Kavi Nagar, Driver Flees Scene
A 30-year-old businessman faced a horrific accident on Tuesday evening in Ghaziabad. The incident occurred on NDRF Road in the Kavi Nagar area. Police confirmed the businessman suffered serious injuries after a car ran him over. Authorities are actively investigating the case and tracing the accused driver.
Details of the Tuesday Evening Incident
Rishi Chauhan, a resident of Kailashpuram in Kavi Nagar, owns an organic fertiliser manufacturing plant in Raeespur. Around 7:30 PM on Tuesday, Chauhan stopped his car to buy peanuts. As he stepped out, a grey Honda City suddenly hit him. The driver immediately fled the spot, leaving the car behind. Passersby quickly rushed Chauhan to a nearby hospital. Doctors confirmed he sustained multiple fractures in the collision and is currently receiving treatment.
Video Evidence and Police Action
A video of the incident shows the accused's car taking a turn and ramming into Chauhan. The impact trapped him under the vehicle. While the driver fled, bystanders worked to drag Chauhan out from under the car. Police identified the prime accused as Ayush Tewatiya, a resident of Sadarpur. Officers seized the vehicle and stated they will soon register an FIR in the case.
Conflicting Accounts from the Family
Chauhan's family presented a different version in their police complaint. They alleged Tewatiya held a long-time enmity against Chauhan and had threatened him previously. The family claimed that after running Chauhan over, Tewatiya and two others got out of the car. They allegedly thrashed him and threatened to kill him.
Police Statement on the Investigation
ACP (Kavi Nagar) Suryabali Maurya addressed the conflicting reports. "The investigation revealed that no fight took place and only one accused was present in the car. We have received the complaint from Rishi's family, and we will lodge an FIR in the matter," Maurya stated. Police are continuing their investigation to clarify all aspects of this disturbing case.
