Gorakhpur Bride Dies Under Suspicious Circumstances Two Days After Wedding
In a tragic incident that has shocked the community, celebrations turned into mourning in the PP Ganj area of Gorakhpur after a 21-year-old woman died under suspicious circumstances just two days after her wedding. The deceased, identified as Seema, had married Manoj, a resident of Badhni village under the P P Ganj police station limits, on February 20.
Family Files Murder Complaint Amid Dowry Harassment Allegations
The deceased's mother filed a formal complaint of murder on Tuesday, alleging foul play in her daughter's untimely death. According to police reports, Seema, the daughter of Kamal Devi from Ratanpur village in the Pipraich area, arrived at her in-laws' home on February 21. The very next evening, her family received a distressing call informing them that she was unwell.
She was immediately rushed to BRD Medical College for emergency treatment, but tragically, she succumbed and died during the course of medical care. Seema's parents have made serious allegations, claiming that when they reached the hospital, her in-laws had already fled the scene, leaving her body behind.
Allegations of Dowry Harassment Surface
In her complaint, Seema's mother has accused her husband and his family of harassing her for dowry, suggesting that this may have led to the fatal incident. The family's allegations have added a layer of complexity to the case, raising concerns about domestic violence and dowry-related crimes in the region.
Police Investigation Underway
Campierganj Circle Officer Anurag Singh has confirmed that the cause of death will be determined only after the postmortem report is received. The police are actively investigating the matter, treating it as a suspicious death case. Authorities have assured that all aspects, including the dowry harassment allegations, will be thoroughly examined to ascertain the truth behind this heartbreaking event.
