Gorakhpur Wedding DJ Dispute Turns Fatal, 24-Year-Old Man Dies in Violent Clash
In a tragic incident that has shocked the community, a 24-year-old man lost his life after a dispute over playing loud music at a wedding escalated into a violent confrontation. The incident occurred on Tuesday night in Harijanpur village, located under the jurisdiction of the Sikriganj police station in Gorakhpur district, Uttar Pradesh.
Details of the Fatal Altercation
The deceased has been identified as Munib Chauhan, a resident of the area. According to police reports and eyewitness accounts, the clash erupted during a marriage function at the residence of one Balchand. An argument initially broke out between two groups over the volume of the DJ music being played at the event. What started as a verbal spat quickly spiraled out of control, turning into a physical altercation.
During the scuffle, Munib Chauhan sustained serious injuries and fell unconscious on the spot. Family members and fellow villagers immediately rushed him to a nearby hospital for urgent medical attention. Doctors at the facility declared his condition critical upon arrival. Despite receiving treatment, he succumbed to his injuries, leaving the community in mourning.
Police Response and Investigation
In the aftermath of the incident, the deceased's sister, Saroj Devi, lodged a formal complaint with the police. Based on her statement, authorities have registered a First Information Report (FIR) against five individuals, including three named accused. So far, two of the accused have been taken into custody for questioning as part of the ongoing investigation.
Senior Superintendent of Police (South) Dinesh Kumar addressed the media, confirming that appropriate legal sections have been invoked in the case. He assured the public that strict action will be taken against all those involved in the violent clash. To maintain law and order and prevent any further untoward incidents, additional police force has been deployed in Harijanpur village.
Police teams have been formed to trace and apprehend the remaining suspects who are currently at large. The authorities are actively working to gather more evidence and statements from witnesses to build a strong case.
