Early Monday morning, gunfire shattered the quiet of Khatika Mohalla in Ludhiana district. Unidentified attackers targeted the home of prominent textile merchant and fashion designer Ashu Vijan.

Ashu Vijan was inside his house with his family when the assault occurred around 3 am. Four men arrived on two motorcycles and opened fire at the main gate. They also shot at a parked vehicle, breaking its windshield.
