Gurgaon Ayurveda Doctor Arrested for Running Over Swiggy Delivery Executive
Police in Gurgaon have arrested a 41-year-old man for a shocking incident involving a Swiggy delivery partner. The arrest followed an alleged attempt to murder that stemmed from a parking argument.
Violent Confrontation Captured on CCTV
The incident occurred on Sunday evening outside a Swiggy store in Hayatpur village near Sector 93. According to police officials, the area falls under the jurisdiction of Sector-10 police station.
CCTV footage from the location shows multiple Swiggy riders waiting at a roadside pickup point. A black Mahindra Scorpio SUV enters the scene and hits a parked motorcycle before speeding away.
The vehicle then returns moments later. The driver swerves deliberately toward the group of delivery executives. One rider, identified as Tinku, sustains grave injuries in the attack.
Accused Identified as Ayurveda Practitioner
Police have identified the arrested individual as Naveen Yadav, aged 41. Yadav works as an Ayurveda practitioner at a primary health centre in Daulatabad. He resides in Bhagat Singh Colony.
Officers seized his Mahindra Scorpio following the arrest. The vehicle was reportedly fitted with a siren that was activated during the incident.
Victim's Account and Police Action
The victim, Tinku (43), is a resident of Chandpura ki Dhani in Rewari, Haryana. He had parked his motorcycle outside the Swiggy store when the confrontation began.
In his police complaint, Tinku stated that Yadav first rammed into his parked bike. The accused then threatened to kill him before deliberately driving the SUV over him two to three times.
Tinku suffered serious injuries and is currently receiving treatment at Virendra Hospital in Rewari. His condition remains under medical supervision.
FIR Registered for Attempted Murder
Sector-10 police station has registered a First Information Report against Naveen Yadav. The charges include attempt to murder and causing grievous hurt.
Police launched an immediate investigation following the complaint. Their efforts led to Yadav's apprehension from Hayatpur on Monday.
Accused's Motive Revealed During Questioning
During police interrogation, Yadav revealed his motivation for the attack. He expressed resentment against delivery agents, including the victim.
The accused claimed that delivery executives frequently parked their motorcycles in the lane outside his house. He stated this parking obstructed the movement of his vehicle, leading to ongoing frustration.
Investigations into the matter continue as police gather additional evidence and statements. The CCTV footage forms a crucial part of their case against the accused.
Sector 10 Station House Officer Inspector Kuldeep confirmed that the victim continues to undergo treatment. He assured that further legal action is being pursued in the case.
