Gurgaon Farmhouse Owner Brutally Murdered by Long-Time Caretaker

In a shocking incident in Gurgaon, a 36-year-old farmhouse owner was brutally murdered by his employee, a caretaker, using a sharp-edged weapon. The crime occurred at a farmhouse in the Sohna area on Sunday, April 5, stemming from an old grudge that had festered for years.

Discovery of the Body and Police Investigation

The incident came to light on April 6 when police at the Sohna Sadar police station received information about a body lying at a farmhouse near the Sohna-Ballabhgarh Road, close to the Harchandpur Bus Stand. A police team rushed to the spot and found the deceased, identified as Rahul, a resident of Ghata village in Gurgaon.

According to the complaint filed by the victim's brother, the family owns the farmhouse where a few rooms have been constructed. They had employed a caretaker, Khemchand, to look after the property. On April 5, Rahul had gone to the farmhouse and was last seen there. When the family tried to contact Khemchand, he was missing and his phone was switched off, raising immediate suspicion.

After the family checked at the farmhouse, they discovered the murder. Police spokesperson Sandeep Turan stated, "Crime scene and fingerprint teams were also called to examine the spot. During the inspection, the weapon used in the crime—a sickle—was recovered from the farmhouse."

Arrest of the Accused and Motive Revealed

Subsequently, a team from the Crime Branch in Sohna tracked down and arrested the accused from Delhi on April 7. The accused has been identified as Khemchand, aged 65, a resident of Heerapur Khurd in Bulandshahr.

During interrogation, police uncovered that Khemchand had worked at the farmhouse for nearly 20 years but had left around one-and-a-half years ago after a dispute. He had returned intermittently for work over the past few months. Investigators revealed that the accused harbored a deep-seated grudge, alleging that the victim would sometimes assault him.

Sandeep Turan added, "On the night of April 5, Khemchand attacked Rahul multiple times on the neck with a sickle at the farmhouse, killing him on the spot, before fleeing to Delhi. Further investigation is underway."

Legal Proceedings and Ongoing Probe

Police have registered a murder case in connection with this brutal crime. The investigation is ongoing to gather more details and evidence related to the incident. This case highlights the tragic consequences of unresolved conflicts and violence in rural and semi-urban settings.

The arrest of Khemchand from Delhi demonstrates the swift action taken by the Gurgaon police in solving this heinous crime. Authorities are now focusing on building a strong case to ensure justice for the victim and his family.
