A devastating hit-and-run incident on the elevated section of the Sohna highway in Gurgaon has resulted in the death of a 30-year-old bus driver. The victim, identified as Ravindra, was a resident of Paharpur village in Uttar Pradesh's Mainpuri district and worked for a private firm in the city.

According to a formal complaint filed by his elder brother, Toofan Singh, Ravindra had visited his family in the village on Tuesday. He departed from his brother's house around 6 PM on his motorcycle to return to his workplace in Gurgaon.

Tragically, around 3 AM on Wednesday, the family received a distressing call informing them of the accident. Toofan Singh immediately proceeded to the Sadar police station and accompanied officers to the accident site.

Police Response and Immediate Aftermath

Police authorities reported that they received initial information about the accident from an emergency response vehicle conducting night patrol duties. Upon rushing to the location, they discovered that Ravindra had already succumbed to his severe injuries.

The victim was transported to the government hospital in Sector 10, where medical professionals officially declared him brought dead. His body was subsequently shifted to the local mortuary for further procedures.

Details of the Accident and Legal Action

In his complaint, Toofan Singh provided crucial details about the incident. He alleged that an unidentified vehicle approached from behind at dangerously high speed and suddenly cut into Ravindra's lane without any warning signals.

This abrupt and reckless manoeuvre caused Ravindra to lose control of his motorcycle, which then crashed violently into the road divider. The impact proved fatal, resulting in his immediate death at the scene.

Law enforcement has registered a formal case under specific sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS):

  • Section 106: Causing death by negligence
  • Section 281: Rash driving or riding on a public way

The case has been filed against an unidentified driver, and police have launched a comprehensive investigation to trace the vehicle and individual responsible for this tragic incident.

Family Background and Current Investigation Status

Toofan Singh revealed that Ravindra is survived by his wife and a 10-year-old son. The family resided together in Sector 12 of Gurgaon. At the time of the accident, Ravindra's wife and son were visiting her native village, as their son's school vacation was ongoing.

"Police are yet to trace the driver involved in this fatal incident," Singh stated while speaking to media representatives.

Authorities have confirmed that intensive efforts are underway to identify and locate the accused driver. Investigators are meticulously examining CCTV footage from the surrounding area to gather evidence and establish the sequence of events.
