Gurgaon Hotel Assault: Airline Crew Alleges Friend Outraged Modesty

A 28-year-old cabin crew supervisor working for an airline has filed a formal police complaint alleging that a friend outraged her modesty and attempted to disrobe her at a hotel in Gurgaon. The incident, which has sparked an investigation, occurred after the woman, a resident of Rewari who works in Delhi, allowed the accused to share her hotel room due to his financial constraints.

Details of the Alleged Assault

According to the complaint, the woman stated that the accused touched her inappropriately and tried to disrobe her during their stay at the hotel. She immediately confronted him, raised an alarm, and informed the police control room, leading to the registration of a case. The police have booked the accused under sections 74 (criminal force against a woman with the intent to outrage her modesty) and 76 (criminal force to any woman or abets such act with the intention of disrobing) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS).

Background and Investigation

The woman, who is married to an Indian Army soldier since 2019, had traveled to Dehradun with the accused on February 7 for official work. During the journey, she alleged that the friend initially drove 250 kilometers in the opposite direction, after which they returned to Bulandshahr. She claimed to have paid for car fuel at a petrol pump in Bulandshahr. As it grew late and they were tired, they decided to halt for the night at a hotel in Gurgaon, booking a single room.

Police officials have noted that despite repeated calls, the woman has yet to return for a detailed investigation since the First Information Report (FIR) was registered. "We called the survivor, who was yet to come for a detailed investigation," an officer stated. The accused remains at large, with no arrest made so far. Investigators are awaiting the woman's visit to the police station or the arrest of the suspect to clarify details, including whether the accused works in her office.

The case highlights ongoing concerns about safety and trust in personal relationships, with authorities urging prompt cooperation from all parties involved to ensure justice is served.
