Gurgaon Truck Driver Succumbs to Injuries After 11-Day Struggle Following Collision
A tragic road accident in Gurgaon has claimed the life of a 60-year-old truck driver, who battled severe injuries for 11 days before succumbing. The incident occurred in the Bilaspur area, highlighting ongoing concerns about road safety and negligent driving in the region.
Details of the Fatal Accident
Shiv Mohan, a resident of Unnao in Uttar Pradesh, was driving a truck for a Delhi-based transport company when the collision happened on April 1 near the Mitsuba company area. According to police reports, another truck, allegedly being driven at high speed and in a negligent manner, collided head-on with his vehicle. This resulted in critical injuries for Mohan, who was on his way to a logistics hub in Pathredi at the time.
He was initially rushed to a private hospital in Bilaspur Chowk for emergency care. Due to the severity of his condition, he was later transferred to Safdarjung Hospital in Delhi, where he unfortunately passed away on April 12 during treatment.
Legal Action and Police Investigation
Based on a complaint filed by his son-in-law, the Bilaspur police station has registered a case against an unidentified driver. The charges include Sections 281 for rash driving and 106 for causing death by negligence under the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS). Authorities have stated that efforts are actively underway to identify and apprehend the accused driver involved in this tragic event.
This case underscores the severe consequences of reckless driving on Indian roads, prompting calls for stricter enforcement of traffic laws and improved safety measures to prevent such fatalities.
Separate Incident in Sohna Adds to Road Safety Concerns
In a related but separate incident, a 25-year-old man named Sachin, residing in Pahad Colony in Sohna, sustained grievous injuries after his motorcycle crashed into a tractor-trolley. The accident occurred on April 6 around 9:20 PM near Devilal Stadium.
Police investigations reveal that the tractor-trolley, allegedly being driven in a rash manner, applied sudden brakes, leading to the collision. Sachin suffered a fractured knee along with severe injuries to his jaw and forehead. He remains unconscious and is currently receiving treatment at a private hospital in Sohna.
A case has been registered at the City Sohna police station under Sections 281 for rash driving and 125(b) for acts endangering life of the BNS, based on a complaint filed by his brother. These back-to-back incidents highlight the urgent need for enhanced road safety protocols and driver awareness campaigns in Gurgaon and surrounding areas.
As authorities continue their investigations into both cases, the community mourns the loss of Shiv Mohan and hopes for Sachin's recovery, while advocating for measures to curb such preventable accidents on the roads.
