Hardoi Police Crack Sensational Murder Case, Arrest Villager Over Illicit Affair Threat

In a significant breakthrough, the police in Hardoi district have successfully solved the brutal murder of a 45-year-old woman in Amirta village, which falls under the Shahabad Kotwali area. The authorities have arrested a middle-aged villager, identified as Ram Niwas, who allegedly committed the crime after the victim threatened to expose his illicit relationship.

Details of the Crime and Arrest

The case came to light when Sridevi, a 45-year-old resident of Amirta, was discovered murdered in a wheat field adjacent to her agricultural land on Thursday. Her body exhibited severe injury marks, specifically deep wounds stretching from below her left ear to her neck, suggesting repeated blows with a sharp-edged weapon. Superintendent of Police Ashok Kumar Meena promptly formed multiple investigative teams, overseen by Additional Superintendent of Police (West) MP Singh, to expedite the probe.

During a press conference held at the police lines, officials disclosed that Ram Niwas was taken into custody, and the spade used in the murder was recovered as crucial evidence. The arrest followed intensive interrogation, during which the accused allegedly confessed to the crime.

Investigation Unravels Motive and Sequence of Events

According to police statements, the investigation revealed that Ram Niwas had developed a close relationship with Lovely, who is the sister of Sridevi's sister-in-law. A few days prior to the murder, Sridevi reportedly caught the two in a compromising situation and issued threats to reveal the affair to both their family members and the wider village community.

On the fateful day, Sridevi was engaged in planting onions in her field, situated merely a few steps away from where Ram Niwas was working. When she reiterated her threat to expose his relationship, he allegedly succumbed to a fit of rage and attacked her, striking her three times with a spade. Subsequently, he dragged her body into a nearby wheat field in an attempt to conceal the crime.

Key Testimonies and Aftermath

Critical information emerged from Sridevi's two sons, who informed the police that they had been working alongside their mother in the fields on the day of the incident. They briefly left to fetch food from home, leaving Ram Niwas as the sole individual present in the adjoining field. Based on their testimony, police detained and questioned Ram Niwas, leading to his confession.

After committing the murder, the accused returned to his home, bathed, and was served food, though he reportedly did not consume it. In a calculated move to avoid suspicion, he later joined the crowd that had gathered at the crime scene. Following his arrest, Ram Niwas has been sent to judicial custody as the legal proceedings continue.

This case underscores the diligent efforts of the Hardoi police in swiftly resolving a heinous crime, bringing a sense of closure to the victim's family and the local community.
