Haryana DGP Spends 4 Hours at Al-Falah University After Red Fort Blast
Haryana DGP Inspects Al-Falah University After Terror Blast

In a significant development following the November 10 Red Fort car blast, Haryana Director General of Police OP Singh conducted an extensive four-hour inspection at Al-Falah University in Faridabad on Tuesday. The high-level visit comes amid growing concerns about security lapses and potential extremist infiltration at educational institutions.

Comprehensive Security Review

The police chief was accompanied by ADIG/CID officials during his thorough examination of the university premises. Singh personally inspected areas reportedly used by terrorists before convening a joint meeting with the District Commissioner and City Police Commissioner.

During his engagement with various stakeholders, the DGP met with security personnel, administrative staff, faculty members, students, local residents, and even the family of the mosque cleric associated with the university. This comprehensive approach aimed to gather multiple perspectives on the security situation.

Key Directives and Security Measures

The DGP issued detailed instructions for a thorough security and administrative review. Primary among these directives was the immediate location of any faculty members who have been missing since the incident, with alerts to be issued to other state and central agencies.

Investigators will focus on security lapses that allowed extremists to stockpile weapons and move freely within the university premises. Singh specifically instructed officials to monitor religious institutions in the area to prevent extremist influence and take immediate legal action against any violations.

Addressing concerns among the student community, the DGP emphasized that the operation was aimed at ensuring their safety. "The operation is aimed at ensuring that such incidents are not repeated, and that the public and students feel safe," Singh stated in his tweet summarizing the visit.

Enforcement Directorate's Parallel Investigation

Simultaneously, the Enforcement Directorate conducted coordinated searches at over 25 premises linked to the university and its trust across Delhi-NCR on Tuesday morning. The financial probe focuses on alleged irregularities, including potential money laundering activities and shell company operations.

Authorities confirmed that the investigation involves trustees, promoters, and key personnel overseeing finance and administration. Preliminary findings have revealed multiple risk indicators consistent with shell-company behavior, along with discrepancies in HR and EPFO/ESIC filings.

The university, located in Faridabad's Dhouj area, functions as a medical college-cum-hospital and has become a focal point in the probe into associates of "suicide bomber" Dr Umar Nabi. The National Investigation Agency has so far arrested two individuals allegedly connected to Nabi and continues its investigation into the inter-state terror network.

The Red Fort blast on November 10 resulted in 15 fatalities, triggering one of the most significant security operations in recent months. The coordinated efforts between state police, central agencies, and financial investigation units underscore the seriousness with which authorities are treating the emerging patterns of what appears to be a sophisticated terror network.
