Hazaribag: The Ichak police conducted a raid on a house in Sijua village on Thursday, leading to the seizure of Rs 15,485 in cash, two bundles of playing cards, and six motorcycles. Several gamblers were taken into custody during the operation but were later granted bail. A case has been registered under the Bengal Gambling Act in connection with the incident.
Gautam Kumar, the officer-in-charge of Ichak Police Station, stated that the raid was carried out following instructions from Superintendent of Police Aman Kumar. The operation aimed to curb illegal gambling activities in the area, which have been a concern for local law enforcement.
The seized items included cash, playing cards, and motorcycles believed to be used by the gamblers. The arrests and subsequent bail were part of standard procedure, with authorities continuing their investigation into the matter. The police have urged the public to report any suspicious activities to help maintain law and order in the region.
