According to police reports, the accident took place when a car carrying nine family members was returning from an engagement ceremony in Barwala. Around 9 pm, near Sarhera village, the vehicle first collided with a tractor-trailer, then veered off the road and crashed into a roadside tree. The impact was described as severe, causing extensive damage to the car and trapping the occupants inside.

Villagers in the vicinity were the first to arrive at the scene and promptly alerted the police and ambulance services.
