Contractor Ends Life After Rs 35 Lakh Loss

A 30-year-old contractor associated with the Public Works Department died by suicide at his residence in Hisar on Tuesday. The deceased, identified as Aman Sharma, reportedly shot himself with his licensed gun. Family members found his body lying in a pool of blood on his bed.

According to police, Sharma had suffered a loss of about Rs 35 lakh and was under depression due to the accumulated debt. He had stopped working as a contractor for some time and had recently been helping his father at his shop.

Police Investigation Underway

Urban Estate police reached the spot after receiving information and took possession of the body. A cartridge was recovered from his room. Preliminary probe indicates he fired the shot at point-blank range using his licensed gun. Police have recorded the statements of family members and started further investigation.
