Live-In Partner Stabbed to Death in Hisar

A 32-year-old woman, identified as Pooja, was allegedly stabbed to death by her live-in partner, Gaurav (28), at a rented house in Shiv Nagar, Hisar, on Thursday. The accused walked into a police post and confessed to the crime, leading to his arrest.

Accused Confesses at Police Post

According to police sources, Gaurav reached the Surya Nagar police chowki and told officers, 'I have killed Pooja.' The police accompanied him to the rented house in Shiv Nagar, where Pooja’s body was found lying inside a room. The body was sent to the Civil Hospital for a post-mortem examination.

Argument Turned Violent in the Early Hours

The incident occurred in the early hours of Thursday when the couple had an argument that turned violent. Gaurav allegedly attacked Pooja repeatedly with a knife, inflicting multiple injuries on her neck, abdomen, and back, causing her death on the spot. Gaurav told police that Pooja had been in contact with another man for the past five months, which led to frequent arguments between them.

Background of the Couple

Gaurav, an e-rickshaw driver, had shifted to the rented accommodation in Shiv Nagar about two months ago. According to police, Pooja had been married twice. Her first husband died, after which she married her brother-in-law. She had two sons from her first marriage and a daughter from her second marriage. After the breakdown of her second marriage, she began living with Gaurav.

Victim’s Mother Alleges Wrongdoing

Pooja’s mother, Sangita, alleged that Gaurav had pushed her daughter into illegal activities and claimed that he had acquired property soon after entering Pooja’s life. The police said they would investigate these allegations.

Arrest and Recovery of Weapon

The police arrested Gaurav and recovered the knife allegedly used in the murder. Further investigation is underway.
