Hyderabad Drug Case: SIT Conducts Intensive Nine-Hour Interrogation

In a significant development in the Moinabad farmhouse drug case, officers from the Special Investigation Team (SIT) have conducted an extensive interrogation of the three accused individuals for approximately nine hours. The questioning focused on various critical aspects of the case, with police officials noting that the responses from the accused were largely evasive and uncooperative.

Accused Taken into Custody for Questioning

The SIT took custody of the three accused—former BRS MLA P Rohit Reddy, his brother P Ritesh Reddy, and their associate Namit Sharma, a businessman from Delhi—from Chanchalguda prison early in the morning. They were transported to Shamshabad police station around 7:30 am for the interrogation session.

Members of the SIT, organized into three separate teams, questioned each accused individually starting from 9 am. The session was attended by Chevella DCP Yogesh Gautam and Shadnagar DCP Ch Sirisha, with direct supervision provided by Future City police commissioner G Sudheer Babu, ensuring thorough oversight of the proceedings.

Drug Test Results and Evasive Responses

During the interrogation, it was revealed that all three accused tested positive for cocaine consumption. Specifically, Namit Sharma tested positive for cocaine, amphetamine, and methamphetamine, with the latter suspected to be MDMA. Investigators confronted the trio with evidence obtained from other accused individuals, Koushik Ravi and Sharat Kumar, which clearly indicated that the narcotics were sourced from local dealers.

Despite this evidence, the accused claimed not to know who had brought the narcotic substances to the farmhouse. They also denied any knowledge of local dealers, including Abhishek Singh from the Rajendranagar area, who is suspected of supplying cocaine. An investigator stated, "We asked them about the source of the drugs. We confronted them with evidence... which clearly indicates that the narcotics were obtained from local dealers. The trio claimed not to know who had brought the narcotic substances to the farmhouse."

Shooting Incident Details Emerge

Regarding the shooting incident at the farmhouse, Namit Sharma reportedly informed the police that he had opened fire using Ritesh Reddy's licensed pistol. He claimed this action was taken because he suspected they were under attack by unknown men in civilian clothing who had suddenly entered the premises.

Missing Person Complaint Filed

While the SIT has launched a manhunt to arrest Abhishek Singh, aged 24, and other suspects believed to have supplied the drugs, Abhishek's father lodged a missing person complaint with the Rajendranagar police on March 19. In his complaint, the father explained that Abhishek left home between 3:30 am and 4:00 am on March 17.

He mentioned that due to Abhishek's work as an interior designer, he frequently visits work sites and occasionally switches his phone off while working, typically turning it back on after returning home. However, this time, the phones remained off for two days, prompting concern. The father also noted that Abhishek had been suffering from health issues for four years and had been taking medication.

Police confirmed that both of Abhishek's phones have been switched off since his disappearance. An investigator added, "Our teams are still looking for Abhishek and the other suspects." The SIT plans to continue questioning the accused within the next two days as the investigation progresses.
