Hyderabad Police to Track Foreign Domestic Workers, Focus on Nepalis
Hyderabad Police to Track Foreign Domestic Workers

Hyderabad: Director General of Police (HOPF) CV Anand has instructed all commissioners and superintendents of police to collect comprehensive information about foreign nationals, particularly Nepalis, working as domestic workers in Telangana. Expressing concern over the involvement of Nepali nationals in criminal activities, Anand stated that officials must gather detailed data on domestic servants from Nepal and other countries across the state. The emphasis is on maintaining a structured database containing information on their residence and employment.

Women Police Reservation and Gender Parity

To improve gender parity and working conditions for women police personnel, Anand advised officials on the effective implementation of the 33% reservation for women in police forces. He directed officers to create greater opportunities for women in law and order duties and field-level policing responsibilities. This move aims to enhance the representation and role of women in the police department.

Technology and Database Management

Apart from maintaining a database of foreign domestic workers for better monitoring, the meeting addressed issues related to CCTNS 2.0, adoption of artificial intelligence, drones, and jurisdictional concerns in four commissionerates. The DGP stressed the need for using technology to improve policing outcomes. He instructed Station House Officers (SHOs) to update information in real time, better utilize digital forensics, and upload details of FIRs, crime data, case diaries, and other records using existing systems.

These measures are part of a broader effort to modernize policing and ensure effective law enforcement across the state. The database of foreign domestic workers is expected to aid in monitoring and preventing criminal activities, while the focus on women's reservation aims to foster a more inclusive and efficient police force.
