Details of the Alleged Assault Incident

According to Corporal Sachan, the incident unfolded on February 19, 2024, as he was returning home from a wedding ceremony in Kanpur. He stated that Sub-Inspector Ravindra Singh Bundela and Head Constable Pradeep Kumar stopped him for questioning along the way.

"The police personnel initially misbehaved with me," Sachan claimed. "When I protested and attempted to record the interaction on my mobile phone, the situation escalated dramatically."

Escalation and Police Station Ordeal

Sachan alleged that upon seeing him recording, Sub-Inspector Bundela called for reinforcement, including two additional sub-inspectors and the chowki in-charge. The group then forcibly demanded that Sachan unlock his mobile phone.

"When I refused to comply with their demands, I was forcibly taken to the police station," Sachan recounted. "There, I was subjected to severe physical assault. I was kicked, punched, and beaten with batons, which resulted in the rupture of my eardrum."
