Senior IAS Officer Files Serious Charges Against Husband
In a shocking development from Rajasthan's bureaucratic circles, senior IAS officer Bharti Dixit has filed a formal police complaint against her husband and fellow civil servant Ashish Modi, alleging severe physical assault, illegal confinement, and unauthorized data access through sophisticated surveillance methods.
Detailed Allegations of Abuse and Confinement
The complaint, filed with the state police chief, reveals disturbing details of the alleged abuse. Bharti Dixit, currently serving as Joint Secretary at the Finance Department, claims that Ashish Modi, Director of Rajasthan's Social Justice and Empowerment Department, married her under false pretenses and subsequently subjected her to years of sustained physical and mental harassment.
One particularly alarming incident described in the complaint occurred on October 15. According to Dixit, her husband along with some associates forcibly confined her inside a car for approximately ninety minutes, threatened her at gunpoint to consent to a divorce, and later transported her to a separate location where she was locked in a room against her will.
Sophisticated Surveillance and Data Breach Claims
The allegations extend beyond physical violence to include technological invasion of privacy. Dixit has accused her husband of installing hidden spy cameras in her private living space and illegally connecting her personal phone to other devices, enabling him to monitor her communications and access sensitive data without authorization.
Following her detailed complaint, authorities at SMS Hospital police station in Jaipur registered a formal First Information Report (FIR) on November 11, 2025. The case has been assigned to Additional DCP (Crime) Sriman Lal Meena of the Jaipur Commissionerate for thorough investigation.
Legal Charges and Official Response
The FIR includes multiple serious charges under the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), specifically sections addressing cruelty by husband or relatives, extortion, wrongful confinement, kidnapping, and criminal conspiracy. Additional charges under the Information Technology Act have been included for the alleged illegal data access violations.
When contacted by media representatives, Ashish Modi stated he would fully cooperate with the investigation process. He specifically mentioned that he was in Bihar from November 4 to November 7, 2025, when the FIR was officially registered. He declined to comment further, citing the ongoing nature of the investigation.
Bharti Dixit has formally requested police protection for herself and her family members. She has also asked authorities to prevent Modi from entering her government-allotted residence and demanded strict legal action against him and his alleged associates involved in the incidents.
