A social media influencer in Madhya Pradesh's Niwari district has been booked for allegedly posting an objectionable video on Instagram that used abusive language against former Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan. The first information report (FIR) was registered under Sections 296(a) (obscene act in public place) and 352 (intentional insult with intent to provoke breach of peace) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), following a complaint by a local BJP leader.

BJP leader Kamlesh Chaurasia lodged the complaint at the local police station, alleging that Yashpal Soni, a social media influencer, uploaded a video on Instagram in which he used abusive language against Pradhan and the Delhi police. According to Niwari Sub-Divisional Police Officer (SDOP) K K Pandey, the complainant demanded strict action against Soni. A probe is under way in the case, Pandey added.
Context of the Protests
The incident comes amid nationwide protests led by the Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) over alleged irregularities in the NEET examination. Over the past few weeks, several memes and posts targeting the government have surfaced on social media. The Delhi police had cracked down on protesters, leading to further criticism. Pradhan, who was the Union Education Minister, faced intense scrutiny during the agitations.
