According to deputy commissioner of police (North) Karan Sharma, two assailants arrived at the hotel on a motorcycle around 10 pm Thursday and opened fire using a country-made pistol. Four rounds were fired, creating panic among hotel staff and customers.

A hotel employee lodged a complaint stating that he was sitting at the counter when the accused entered the premises and started firing. One bullet reportedly passed close to his ear before hitting a wall inside the bar. Fortunately, no one was injured in the incident, Sharma said.

Arrest and Investigation

Police said the accused were caught after a chase during which their motorcycle slipped, causing both to fracture their legs. During interrogation, the duo revealed they allegedly opened fire on the instructions of Pushpendra Singh, a resident of Khedli in Alwar currently living in Brahmpuri. Police said he had an argument with hotel staff earlier and later hired the two accused to attack them.

Police recovered the weapon used in the firing and launched a search operation to arrest Pushpendra, who remains absconding.
