Jaipur Range Police Arrest 226 in 15-Day Anti-Drug Operation
In a sweeping 15-day crackdown against narcotics, police in seven districts under the Jaipur range have arrested 226 persons and seized drugs worth nearly Rs 2 crore under a special operation named "Anti-Venom". The operation, which ran from March 15 to March 31, targeted drug peddlers, users, and illegal cultivators across multiple districts, with coordinated action monitored at the range level.
Operation Details and Districts Covered
Inspector General of Police (Jaipur Range) Rahul Prakash announced the results of the operation at a press conference on Wednesday. The crackdown was conducted in the districts of Jaipur Rural, Jhunjhunu, Sikar, Alwar, Kotputli-Behror, Dausa, and Khairthal-Bhiwadi. Prakash emphasized that the operation was designed to strike at the very root of drug cartels, disrupting their networks and supply chains.
Seizures and Cases Registered
During the drive, police registered a total of 229 cases, with seizures encompassing a wide range of narcotics. The confiscated items included:
- 25.404 grams of MD drugs
- 781.50 grams of smack
- 88.827 kg of ganja
- 15.516 kg of doda post
- 10.811 kg of doda choora
- 79.12 grams of opium
In addition to these substances, teams also seized 6,109 cannabis plants, along with 18,849 Tramadol capsules and tablets and 4,093 bottles of illicit syrup. These recoveries highlight the extensive nature of the drug trade in the region and the police's efforts to curb it.
