Armed Robbery at Sikar Jeweller's Shop Leaves Trader Injured

A violent robbery occurred at a jeweller's shop on Khandela Road in Kanwat town, Sikar district, on Monday night, resulting in injuries to the trader and the theft of valuable jewellery. The incident unfolded around 8 pm as the shop was closing for the day.

Details of the Attack

Three armed assailants arrived in a car and confronted the trader, Vikas Soni, as he was shutting down his business. The robbers brandished firearms, leading to a physical altercation during which one suspect struck Soni on the head. In the ensuing chaos, the criminals snatched a bag containing nearly 0.5 kilograms of gold and several pouches of silver ornaments before fleeing the scene.

During their escape, a gun and one pouch with silver jewellery were dropped, providing crucial evidence for the investigation. Soni's family, alerted by the commotion, pursued the suspects for several kilometers but lost track of them near Bhadwadi-Kanchanpur.

Police Response and Investigation

Local police, under the leadership of CI Nekiram Kalwaniya, swiftly established roadblocks and secured the crime scene. They recovered the firearm used in the attack and other discarded items, which are now being examined for leads. Vikas Soni sustained injuries in the incident and received initial treatment at the Community Health Center before being discharged.

The search for the three suspects is ongoing, with authorities actively following up on clues from the evidence found. This brazen robbery has heightened concerns about security in the area, prompting calls for increased vigilance among local businesses.
