Wife and Lover Arrested in Ranchi Murder Case
Jharkhand Police have arrested a woman and her paramour for the murder of her husband in Ranchi, with the victim's head recovered 17 days after the crime. The partially burnt headless torso of the victim, identified as Lohra, was discovered in the Tetartanr forest area under Bundu police station on June 19.
Details of the Crime
According to police officials, the accused allegedly killed Lohra, decapitated him, and attempted to dispose of the body by burning it. The head was later recovered from a pond in the same forest area after extensive searches. The arrest was made on July 6, following a detailed investigation that included forensic evidence and witness testimonies.
Investigation and Arrest
Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Ranchi, Kishore Kaushal, stated, "The accused confessed to the crime during interrogation. They planned the murder due to an illicit relationship between the woman and her lover." The SSP added that the motive was to eliminate the husband, who was allegedly opposed to the relationship. The police are also probing if any other individuals were involved in the crime.

Local residents expressed shock over the incident, calling for strict action against the accused. Legal proceedings have been initiated, and the accused are being produced in court. The case highlights ongoing concerns about domestic violence and extra-marital relationships leading to violent crimes in the region.
