Kannauj College Receives RDX Bomb Threat via Registered Post, Operator Targeted

An inter college located in the Saurikh area of Kannauj district has been thrust into a state of alarm after receiving a chilling threat to blow up the institute using RDX explosives. The threat was delivered through a registered post letter, which also included menacing warnings to kill the college operator, Kuldeep Yadav, and his son, according to police statements made on Wednesday.

Details of the Threatening Letter

The registered letter explicitly threatened to detonate the college with RDX and to shoot Kuldeep Yadav and his son, causing widespread panic among the family members. Kuldeep Yadav, a resident of Ijalpur village under the jurisdiction of the Saurikh police station, operates Sheela Devi Satya Veer Singh Inter College, situated on the Saurikh–Mainpuri Road. In response to the grave threats, he promptly lodged a formal complaint with the police, providing them with a copy of the letter and urging immediate action to ensure safety and security.

Police Investigation Underway

Police authorities have revealed that the threatening letter was dispatched from Sarai Meera in Kannauj on February 3, 2026. As part of the ongoing investigation, discrepancies related to the sender's details are being meticulously examined. Saurikh police station in-charge Jayanti Prasad Gangwar confirmed that the complaint had been received and an inquiry is currently in progress. He suggested that there is a possibility the letter was sent by someone from the village using a fake name and address to conceal their identity.

Adding to the complexity of the situation, it was noted that Kuldeep Yadav's wife currently serves as the village pradhan, which may be a factor in the motives behind the threat. Police have assured that further action will be taken only after thorough verification and a comprehensive investigation into all aspects of the case, including potential personal or local disputes that could have prompted such an extreme act.
