The woman, a resident of Vishnupuri, stated that she and her husband were returning home from her maternal home in Ashok Nagar when they encountered the SUV obstructing traffic. After honking failed to prompt the youths to move, the situation turned violent. The accused reversed their vehicle, ramming it into the couple's car. When the husband stepped out, he was assaulted, with his clothes torn and an attempt made to strangulate him.
The woman alleged that one of the youths smashed their car's windshield with a stone while she screamed for help. When she tried to record the incident, the accused—identified as Harshvardhan, Vikrant Agnihotri, and Abhishek Tripathi—molested her and issued threats of gang rape.
