Kanpur Minor Allegedly Abducted and Assaulted by Policeman, Accomplice
A shocking incident of alleged sexual violence has emerged from Kanpur, Uttar Pradesh, where a policeman and his friend are accused of kidnapping and gang-raping a 14-year-old girl. The crime occurred in the Sachendi area, sending waves of outrage through the community and raising serious questions about police conduct.
The Horrific Night: Abduction and Assault
According to the victim's complaint, the traumatic episode began around 10 pm on Monday night. The girl had just stepped out of her house when she was forcibly pulled into a vehicle by two men. One of the alleged perpetrators was identified as a policeman in uniform.
The accused then took the terrified minor to a deserted location near a railway track in Sachendi. There, they subjected her to a brutal sexual assault that lasted for approximately two hours. The ordeal only ended when the girl fell unconscious. The men then reportedly dumped her outside her home and fled the scene.
Family's Struggle for Justice and Police Apathy
The victim's family's fight for justice was met with immediate hurdles. The girl's brother stated that he called the emergency police number 112 at midnight to report the crime, but received no response. Determined, he then went to the local police station to lodge a formal First Information Report (FIR).
However, in a distressing turn of events, the family claims they were turned away from the police station. The reason cited was that one of the accused was a police officer. This alleged initial inaction highlights a grave failure in the system meant to protect citizens.
Undeterred, the family persisted and managed to meet with senior police officials. Following their intervention, a case was finally registered. DCP West, Dinesh Chandra Tripathi, confirmed that an FIR has been filed against two unidentified accused under relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code and the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act. He stated that efforts are underway to identify and apprehend the culprits.
