Kerala Home Minister Intervenes for 43 SI Candidates Before Rank List Expiry
Kerala Home Minister Steps In for 43 SI Candidates

Thiruvananthapuram: In a significant development, Kerala Home Minister Ramesh Chennithala has intervened to facilitate the appointment of 43 candidates included in the sub-inspector (SI) rank list that is set to expire on June 9. The minister has directed the additional chief secretary of the home department to take urgent steps to ensure that eligible candidates are appointed before the rank list lapses.

Relief for Candidates

The move comes as a major relief to candidates who were facing the prospect of losing their opportunity for government service. The SI rank list, prepared by the Kerala Public Service Commission (PSC), was published on June 9, 2025. Although the state government had extended the validity of certain PSC rank lists, this particular list was reportedly not covered under that order, leaving several candidates uncertain about their future.

Candidates Approach Minister

Concerned about the situation, affected candidates approached Chennithala and submitted a representation seeking immediate intervention. The minister reportedly assured them that no eligible person would be denied an appointment. Following this, he issued directives to the home department to expedite the process and ensure that all 43 candidates are appointed before the deadline.
