Kerala Teenager Found Deceased at Karnataka Waterfall Following Intensive Search

Chikkamagaluru, Karnataka: The body of a teenage girl from Kerala, who had been reported missing from the Chandradrona Hills area since Tuesday, was tragically discovered near a waterfall at Manikyadhara Hills on Friday. The recovery concluded a tense three-day search operation that gripped the local community.

Drone Technology Aids in Discovery of Body

Rescue teams successfully located the victim after a drone equipped with an advanced thermal imaging camera traced her body. The grim discovery was made approximately 1,000 feet deep within a gorge from the popular Manikyadhara viewpoint, highlighting the challenging and treacherous terrain of the region.

Conflicting Theories Emerge Regarding Circumstances

Initial police assessments suggest the teenager may have suffered a fatal accident. "She could have slipped and fallen into the waterfall," stated a police official, pointing to the dangerous landscape. However, this theory is being vehemently contested by the girl's grieving family.

Her parents and relatives have raised serious allegations, claiming she might have been the victim of a kidnapping. They suspect unknown persons could have drugged her before her disappearance. The emotional toll was starkly visible when Rohini, the mother, collapsed upon seeing an image of her daughter's lifeless body on a phone screen.

"I want my daughter back and I don't believe she slipped from the hill. Someone had kidnapped and drugged her before she went missing," Rohini asserted, expressing deep suspicion of foul play in the tragic incident.

Police Await Post-Mortem for Definitive Answers

Superintendent of Police Jitendra Kumar Dayama provided crucial details from the preliminary investigation. "Srinandhana's clothes were intact," he noted, but emphasized that the exact cause of death will only be determined following a comprehensive post-mortem examination.

SP Dayama also issued a caution against drawing premature conclusions, urging the public and media to await official forensic results. The case remains under active investigation as authorities work to piece together the final moments leading to this heartbreaking outcome.
