Court Adjourns Hearing on Khan Sir's Anticipatory Bail
A Patna court on Thursday postponed the hearing of educator Faisal Khan, widely known as 'Khan Sir', anticipatory bail plea in connection with the coaching institute firing case. The next hearing is scheduled for July 7, according to advocates involved in the case.
The case stems from a firing incident that occurred in early June after Khan Sir's coaching institute was allegedly vandalized by a group of miscreants. His security guards are accused of opening fire during the incident, leading to legal proceedings.
Interim Protection Extended
Khan Sir's advocate Arvind Kumar Mouar confirmed that the stay on his arrest has been extended until July 7. The court, presided over by Additional District Judge 2 due to the absence of the district judge, also deferred the bail applications of Khan Sir's two security guards, who are currently in judicial custody.
Educator Roshan Anand's advocate Satyam Jha told PTI Video, "Since the district judge was absent today, the hearing took place under ADJ-2. The next hearing will take place on July 7." Both advocates stated that the bail petitions of the two bodyguards will also be heard on the same date.
Background of the Case
The incident dates back to early June when Khan Sir's coaching institute was reportedly vandalized. In response, his security guards allegedly fired shots, leading to a police case. Khan Sir sought anticipatory bail fearing arrest, while his guards were taken into judicial custody.
The court's decision to extend interim protection provides temporary relief to Khan Sir as the legal process continues. The next hearing on July 7 will address both his bail plea and those of his security personnel.
