Police identified the deceased as Tanmoy Dey, aged 52, and his wife Ruma Rakshit, aged 47. The couple resided on the third floor of a building in ward number 15 of Maheshtala Municipality. On Saturday evening, relatives attempted to contact them by phone but received no response.
Growing Suspicion and Police Involvement
After repeated failed attempts, family members grew concerned and rushed to the flat. They found the door locked from the inside. Despite loud knocking and calls, there was no answer from within. This prompted them to alert the local police immediately.
