Kolkata Joyride Turns Into Nightmare As Car Flips Over Road
A late-night outing for four young men in Kolkata nearly ended in tragedy on Thursday. What began as a simple joyride after visiting an eatery in Sector V escalated into a scene of sheer horror in the Baisakhi area of Salt Lake.
Miraculous Escape After Terrifying Crash
The speeding sedan, carrying the four youths back towards Ultadanga, violently struck a median divider. The impact was so powerful that the vehicle launched into the air, flying nearly six feet high before crashing down onto the opposite side of the road. The car was left completely mangled by the force of the collision.
Police officers confirmed the driver allegedly lost control near a traffic island. This loss of control caused the car to ram directly into the median. Witnesses described a deafening crash that drew residents of nearby Sourav Abasan to the scene. They saw smoke rising from the severely damaged vehicle as the young occupants struggled to get out.

With immediate help from alert locals, the four youths were carefully pulled from the wreckage. They were then rushed to Bidhannagar Sub-Divisional Hospital for urgent first-aid treatment. Medical staff confirmed none of the injuries were serious.
Aftermath and Investigation
Following initial treatment, the young men were either taken home by their families or moved to other hospitals for further observation. Police officials stated that no formal complaint was lodged regarding the incident.
The car owner, who is the driver's father, later arranged for a towing van to remove the shattered wreckage from the site. Witnesses reported the impact was so severe it actually dislodged the car's front wheels.
Authorities have reviewed available CCTV footage from the area. The footage clearly indicates the driver failed to properly negotiate the turn at the traffic island, leading directly to the collision with the median divider.
