Lucknow Biryani Dispute Escalates into Violent Street Brawl, Three Injured
What began as a simple complaint about a piece of chicken in a biryani order quickly spiraled into a full-blown street fight near the Engineering College crossing in Lucknow, leaving three individuals with serious injuries. The incident, which occurred on Wednesday night, has drawn significant attention after a video of the chaotic scene went viral on social media platforms.
How the Altercation Started
According to police reports, the clash erupted when Suraj Prajapati, a resident of Tedhi Pulia, visited a local eatery along with his friend Mohammad Aamir to get biryani packed. Prajapati requested that a piece of chicken in his order be replaced, a seemingly minor issue that unexpectedly snowballed into a violent confrontation.
Violence Erupts at the Restaurant
Police stated that restaurant owner Rizwan responded to the customer's request by verbally abusing Prajapati, leading to a heated argument. As tensions escalated and the situation spiraled out of control, Rizwan and his employee Zameer, along with approximately 10 to 12 other staff members, launched a brutal attack on the two customers.
The assailants used iron rods, sticks, and chairs as weapons during the assault. Prajapati sustained a serious head injury and a fractured arm, causing him to fall unconscious. His friend Aamir also fainted due to the injuries inflicted during the violent attack.
Local Advocate Injured While Trying to Intervene
In an attempt to calm the volatile situation, local advocate Devendra Pratap Singh stepped in to mediate. Unfortunately, he too was attacked and injured during the melee, adding to the list of casualties from this shocking incident.
Police Response and Investigation
Inspector Shivanand Mishra of the Madiaon police station confirmed that a First Information Report (FIR) has been registered in connection with the violent altercation. Authorities have arrested restaurant owner Rizwan and several of his workers involved in the attack.
The police investigation is currently ongoing to determine the full extent of the incident and ensure that all responsible parties are held accountable for their actions.
This violent episode serves as a stark reminder of how minor disputes can escalate into dangerous situations when not handled properly. The incident has raised concerns about public safety and conflict resolution in urban areas, particularly in crowded commercial zones like the Engineering College crossing in Lucknow.
