Lucknow Resident Doctor Files FIR Against Colleague for Sexual Exploitation and Intimidation

In a serious development at a premier government institute in Lucknow, a resident doctor has filed a First Information Report (FIR) accusing a fellow resident doctor of sexual exploitation, abuse, and criminal intimidation. Police confirmed the case on Wednesday, highlighting grave allegations that have shaken the medical community.

Details of the Allegations and Hostel Incident

The complainant, a woman resident doctor residing in the institute's hostel, stated that her male colleague, who also lives in the same hostel, initially befriended her. Their relationship reportedly developed into a physical one, with the accused allegedly promising to marry her. However, the situation took a distressing turn in 2024 when he forced her to consume contraceptive pills. Upon her refusal, she claims he subjected her to verbal abuse and issued threats to her life.

Further revelations emerged as the woman discovered through friends that the accused was involved with multiple women simultaneously. When confronted about this, he not only refused to marry her but also made derogatory remarks, explicitly stating he had no intention of committing to the relationship.

Mental Harassment and Defamation Claims

The complainant also alleged that the accused has been actively defaming her on the institute's premises by spreading malicious rumors about her character. This campaign of slander has led to severe mental harassment, exacerbating her distress in an already challenging professional environment.

Prior to the police involvement, the matter was referred to the institute's internal complaints committee. The committee attempted to facilitate a reconciliation between the two parties, but these efforts proved futile as the accused refused to cooperate, prompting the escalation to legal authorities.

Police Action and Legal Charges

Station House Officer Dhirendra Kumar of the PGI police station confirmed that an FIR has been registered against the male doctor under several sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS). The charges include:

  • BNS 69: Sexual intercourse through deceit
  • BNS 115(2): Causing hurt
  • BNS 352: Breach of peace
  • BNS 351(3): Intimidation

This case underscores ongoing concerns about safety and ethical conduct within medical institutions, with authorities now investigating the allegations thoroughly to ensure justice is served.
