Lucknow: Police have registered an FIR in connection with the alleged assault on a family at a CNG filling station in Madiaon following a dispute over queue jumping late Friday night.

Incident Details

According to the complaint filed by Anupam Jain, a resident of Maharaja Agrasen Nagar on Sitapur Road, the incident occurred around 11:30 pm on May 8 when he had gone to refill CNG in his car along with his sister Priya and brother-in-law Rishabh Agrawal.

Jain alleged that occupants of a vehicle bearing a Lucknow registration number broke the queue and parked ahead of his car at the CNG station. When he objected, the occupants allegedly entered into an argument with him.

Assault and Injuries

He further alleged that the accused appeared to be under the influence of alcohol and soon turned violent. The FIR states that the group allegedly assaulted Jain, his sister and his brother-in-law, causing injuries to all three.

Police Investigation

Police said a case has been registered at Madiaon police station and an investigation is underway. CCTV footage from the CNG station is being examined to identify the accused.

SHO Shivanand Mishra said an FIR has been registered under BNS sections 115(2) (voluntarily causing hurt) and 351(2) (criminal intimidation).
