In a brazen daylight attack that has sent shockwaves through the community, a salon owner was critically injured after unidentified assailants opened fire in Machhiwara's Kanganwal area on Sunday.
The victim, identified as Happy, was ambushed near his residence around 5:30 PM when two motorcycle-borne attackers targeted him with multiple gunshots. According to eyewitness accounts, the assailants fled the scene immediately after the shooting, leaving the victim bleeding on the street.
Local residents rushed Happy to a nearby medical facility where doctors described his condition as serious but stable. "The victim sustained gunshot wounds to his body and is currently undergoing treatment," confirmed a medical official from the local hospital.
Police Launch Manhunt
Machhiwara police have registered a case and launched a comprehensive investigation into the incident. Senior police officials visited the crime scene to gather evidence and question potential witnesses.
"We have formed special teams to track down the perpetrators," said a police spokesperson. "The motive behind the attack is still under investigation, and we are exploring all possible angles."
