Labourer Murdered in Madikeri Estate, Neighbour Detained
In a tragic incident at Chettalli, Madikeri taluk, an estate labourer from Odisha was found murdered, with police taking another labourer into custody. The victim, identified as Ashwinagomago, had been working at a private estate for over ten years and resided there with his wife and daughter.

On March 2, the suspect, Mahesh, who lived nearby, forcibly took Ashwinagomago to a village shop. Mahesh returned alone in the evening, and when the victim's wife, Sumbarigamango, inquired about her husband's whereabouts, he provided no response. She, along with neighbours, initiated a search, leading to the discovery of Ashwinagomago's body near the private estate where he was last seen with Mahesh.
The wife filed a formal complaint with the Madikeri Rural police. Mahesh has been arrested, but the motive behind the murder remains under investigation. SP Bindu Mani visited the crime scene to oversee the probe.
