Major Fire Engulfs Plastic Warehouse in Patna's Karmalichak Area
A significant fire erupted in a plastic warehouse located in the Karmalichak area under the Bypass police station jurisdiction in Patna. The incident occurred early on Saturday morning. Flames completely consumed the structure. Fortunately, no injuries were reported from the blaze.
Massive Firefighting Response Mobilized
Emergency services responded swiftly to the alarm. More than twelve fire tenders were dispatched to the location. A hydraulic ladder vehicle also joined the operation. These units arrived from various parts of Patna city to combat the intense fire.
The fire initially started on the warehouse's first floor. Workers first noticed smoke billowing from the building. The stored materials included large plastic containers and other highly flammable items. This caused the flames to spread with incredible speed throughout the facility.
Authorities Suspect Electrical Fault
Warehouse employees quickly informed the police and fire department. Personnel from the local Bypass police station and fire officers reached the site promptly. Fire officer Dayanand Singh supervised the entire firefighting operation.
Singh stated that approximately fourteen vehicles were ultimately deployed to fight the blaze. He indicated that a short circuit is the suspected preliminary cause of the fire. Regarding financial losses, Singh mentioned that no formal written application has been received from the warehouse owner yet. A proper damage assessment is still pending.
Firefighters Prevent Wider Disaster
Fire crews worked relentlessly to bring the inferno under control. Their efforts proved successful in containing the fire before it could spread to adjacent buildings. Officers credited this timely intervention with preventing further property damage.
The officers explained that the fire's rapid intensification was directly linked to the large quantities of plastic materials stored inside. These materials not only fueled the flames but also generated thick, toxic smoke. Official investigations are currently underway to determine the exact cause of the fire and to fully evaluate the extent of the damage.
