Belagavi: In a swift operation on Thursday evening, the Marihal police arrested a man who was allegedly threatening people with a weapon in a public place in Mutaga village. The accused has been identified as Sagar Tarun, a 40-year-old resident of Mutaga.
Incident Details
Acting on a specific tip-off, the Marihal police team rushed to the spot near a hotel where Sagar was standing and brandishing a weapon. The police immediately seized the weapon and took the individual into custody. He was then transported to the police station for further interrogation.
Legal Action
Following the interrogation, a case was registered against Sagar Tarun under Section 27(1) of the Indian Arms Act and Section 97 of the Karnataka Police (KP) Act. Chandrashekhar C, Police Sub-Inspector (PSI) of Marihal police station, confirmed that an investigation is currently underway to ascertain the full circumstances surrounding the incident.
