A man was critically injured in a stabbing incident in northwest Delhi's Ashok Vihar early Sunday morning. According to police, the victim, identified as Vineet, was attacked by a group of six to seven assailants who were angered after discovering that Vineet had allegedly been pranking and abusing them through a fake social media profile posing as a girl.
Victim in Critical Condition
Vineet remains in critical condition at LNJP Hospital. A case of attempted murder has been registered, and police are investigating the incident.
Series of Stabbings in Northwest Delhi
This attack was part of a spate of three separate stabbing incidents in northwest Delhi within 24 hours, resulting in two deaths and one critical injury. Police have yet to make arrests in two of these cases.
First Incident: Model Town Murder
In the first incident, a 25-year-old man named Sahil was stabbed to death by unidentified assailants in Model Town on Sunday night. Police have registered a murder case and launched a manhunt. During the investigation, Sahil's friend Shiva told police that the attack was allegedly carried out by Ashu, an 18-year-old resident of Lal Bagh. Police have recovered the knife used in the crime and are conducting raids to arrest the accused.
Second Incident: Hudson Lane Killing
In another incident, a 38-year-old man named Dilbahar was stabbed to death in Hudson Lane on Monday. Dilbahar worked at a mattress-making shop. Preliminary inquiry revealed that he had an altercation with his co-worker, Ashfaque (42), over a trivial issue. During the quarrel, Ashfaque allegedly attacked Dilbahar multiple times with a pair of scissors. The victim was rushed for treatment but succumbed to his injuries. The accused was subsequently arrested.
